You can remove the uterus in various ways. You can buy a special device in the store or make it yourself using the simplest and most affordable materials, for example, syringes. There are many advantages to removing queens in syringes if the process is organized correctly.
Syringe selection
An ordinary medical syringe is suitable for removing the uterus. You can buy it at any pharmacy. It is important to choose the right volume - usually use a 20 ml instrument.
It is supposed to manufacture a device in a grafting frame - the syringes are installed in two rows of 11-12 pieces each, that is, 22-24 syringes are required for one frame.
Additionally, other materials and tools are needed:
- stationery knife;
- sandpaper;
- a hammer with nails, a drill or a screwdriver with self-tapping screws;
- bowls - you can buy special devices in a beekeeping store or make them yourself.
Construction Instructions
The construction for the withdrawal of the queens is made quite simply. It is necessary to act according to the following algorithm:
- Trim the tops of the syringes.
- Strip edges.
- Drill 6 holes from 4 sides along the entire length of the syringe - there should be 24 of them.
- The last pair of holes is made directly at the entrance of the syringe plunger - they will be used for transportation.
- Strip holes.
- In the piston of the syringe, make a hole for the bowl with an indent to the side - the bowl should be attached to the side so that the queen bee can freely get out if necessary and not die.
- Trim the lower part of the piston and clean it.
- Cut the top of the piston so that a small plate remains for attaching to the frame - the syringe is fixed with a self-tapping screw or a nail.
- Make a groove in the piston plate, due to which the device will be attached.
The syringes prepared in this way must be attached to the inoculation frame so that there is a distance of 35-40 mm between them. When making this frame, you do not need to fix the lower bar, otherwise it can crush the bees.
The result should be a U-shaped design with an additional bar in the middle, on which the second row of syringes-insulators will be mounted. The distance between the two rows should be such that it is convenient to attach and remove insulators. They need to be mounted at a small distance from the edges (at least 4 cm), since there are cold zones - the bees do not like them.

How to remove queens in syringes?
To remove the uterus in the prepared design, it is necessary to place a small ball of candi on the bottom of each syringe. All balls must be covered with round paper caps, in the centers of which a hole with a diameter of 6 mm is made.
First, bee larvae should be placed in spatulas. You also need a nurse bee, which must be removed before the queen bee emerges in about two days.
At the same time, it is necessary to attach to the spatulas the main part of the structure - the syringe body. In each body, put 2-3 bees, which, after the queen leaves, will provide her feeding.
The larvae have a certain age difference, so the uterus hatch at different times - the interval is usually several hours. Even if this happens at the same time, then due to isolation, they should not kill each other.
After leaving, the uterus should be removed. The rest of the larvae are left further for the rest of the individuals to come out.
Advantages and disadvantages of the method
The removal of uterus in syringes has certain advantages:
- availability of materials - syringes are sold in any pharmacy, other materials and tools can be found at home;
- minimum cost of construction - finished devices are much more expensive;
- the possibility of isolating queens and preserving their large number;
- safety of queens from being eaten by congeners;
- convenience and safety of transportation - the use of such structures provides the necessary air flow, and it is very easy to carry them;
- the possibility of quick attachment of the mother liquor between the combs for installation in the nucleus.
There is only one drawback of the method - the need for construction work. In fact, it will be difficult only the first time, the preparation of such devices in the future will take a minimum of time and seem very easy.
The use of syringes for the withdrawal of queens allows you to get a fairly large brood without the risk of destruction by their own relatives. To make designs is quite simple, using cheap and affordable materials. This method is perfect for beginner beekeepers, as it is notable for its simplicity combined with high efficiency.
