Bulan horses attract with their unusual color, they are used to decorate a country house, horseback riding. A peculiarity of horses with a bulan color is their interesting and at the same time spectacular appearance. Until now, no one has been able to clearly determine the place and time of the origin of horses.
Historical data
Today, there are several legends, which is why the color of horses was called a bulan. The Tatar meaning of the word "bulany" is a deer or elk. The British called it "deer skin." The most accurate description of the color of horses is the translation from the Turkic “to get dark." After all, animals have a light yellow head, back, shoulders, neck. It seems that the horse got dirty in a coal placer - dark hairs give some mystery.
According to some documents, in ancient times in the capital of Parthia, Nisa, stallions with yellow hair were born. Based on these data, the assumption is based that the bulane horses came from there.
A little later, nobles began to give preference to animals with dark colors, they were considered hardy and better developed physically than horses of a light color. It was believed that the color of the horses can clearly describe the temperament of the animal.
Description of the Bulan
The Bulan horse is characterized as an unusually beautiful animal. His body is covered with hair that has a sandy tint with a slight yellowness, although occasionally individuals with a small amount of dark hair are found - they darken the general background. Such horses always have a dark tail and mane, limbs and hooves.
Sometimes there are specimens with black hair on the torso. For these reasons, animals are called indigenous horses. A dark “belt” is located on the back along the ridge, and on the forelimbs there is a zebroid color - these are all signs of a “wild” dominant gene.
The hue of the main color can vary from cream color to cognac color. Usually horses have pigmented skin and eyes have a bright amber color. Rarely there are specimens with white spots, not only on the body, but on the limbs.
Since ancient times, the main quality of mule horses has been the desire for freedom. It is believed that the first wild stallions, which no longer exist, were possessed by the mace in color, but their genes are inherited.
Suit Features
When a stallion is born, it is difficult to determine his suit, because it manifests itself as it grows and is finally formed by the 6th month of life. To correctly determine the suit, you need to know exactly the shade of the limbs and the suspension. Next, you need to compare this shade with the color of the hair on the body, and only then pay attention to other distinctive features of the horse's color.
The characteristic features of the Bulan suit are the following factors: wool with shine; dark and light shades that make the horse more attractive; usually brown eyes, less often amber; yellow case with overflows of different shades; dark legs; black mane and tail of a dark shade.
Due to the fact that horses with this color are extremely rare, their cost is excessively high. In addition, animals require special care: regular brushing of hair, mane and tail. This helps horses stay as beautiful.
Individuals with brown limbs come across. This is justified by the fact that horses have a special gene that owns the property of brightening tones. In addition to these colors, there are other options for the color of bulan horses.
The apprentices
There are several apprentices of a mock suit. Today the following are considered the most common:
- Bright. In animals, the color varies from pale yellow to light sand. In some representatives, the shade of the head is darker than the color of the hair on the body. Light-bulane horses have dark limbs, but specimens with light legs are rare. On the dark mane and tail there may be light hairs.
- The dark ones. Such horses have yellow-brown or dark sand hairs on their bodies. There are mule horses with a dark color of shoulders. Usually there are light spots on the body of an animal - they are called "apples."
- Apple. The black color of the limbs of the horses can be extended higher, and not end on the hock. Among light shades, black color is found, it creates amazing outlines of color. The final moment in the color of such horses is light blotches on the legs and head.
- Golden These horses are called "Bulans in gold." Individuals with this color are characterized by a bright yellow hue with a golden tint on the body. The breed is not accepted for use in work or racing. Horses are very popular in the Middle East. Only a wealthy person can buy them. In the old days, golden-hued horses were described as the main characters of fairy tales and legends.
- Silvery. Horses have a silver tint. Usually the mantle is dark in color. A distinctive feature is the manifestation of a silver tone as the horses grow. At first, animals predominate in a gray tone. Therefore, it is almost impossible to immediately determine the silvery bulan horses.
Marks of Bulan Horses
Also there are specimens with some congenital marks. Usually these are white spots on the head and limbs. They can take various forms and be different in size.
The most popular individuals with original marks are considered horses with a star located on their heads, has a leaf-like, sickle-shaped or diamond-shaped shape. There are horses with a narrow or wide hole. The mark starts from the head, extending to the bridge of the nose or lip. A wide mark can be spread in the eye area.
There are also horses with a bald head or a flashlight. This is a very wide borehole, which necessarily captures the area with one or two eyes at the same time.
Suits
There are several breeds with a bulan suit, which makes horses surprisingly interesting and attractive specimens:
- Spirit. This is a golden bulan horse.
- Akhal-Teke breed. Bulan horses are very common in this breed. The suit is the hallmark of these horses. Gold handsome men were often sold at high cost. It was previously believed that owners who have such a horse are wealthy and noble. This breed is considered one of the oldest.
- Exmoor English Pony. The oldest breed common in Britain. Combines the Bulan gene. Representatives of the breed descended from stunted Celtic horses. Until now, they are used by local residents to transport goods in cold and harsh conditions.
Despite the fact that today horses are not so often used as a "transport", but hippotherapy or just horseback riding is becoming popular.
Legends of the broken horses
In the Baroque period, noble horses were considered popular among noble people, as evidenced by paintings depicting animals with such a color. Closer to our time, horses with a dark color were used very often, considering that animals were hardy and unpretentious, unlike horses with a light color.
Horses that have a light gray color have always been considered "nobles", that is, those that were ridden by exceptionally wealthy people. And to this day, interest in such horses does not disappear, especially if a person can afford to buy such an animal.
Today there are various colors of horses. Bulan suit is one of the most popular. Horses with this color have an attractive exterior; their color is considered very unusual and interesting. The price of such a horse is justified, because this suit of the animal is a rarity.
